THE GREAT OUTDOORS and marshmallow rock...

We always have our Saturdays full of things TO-DO so we rarely have the opportunity to do what we WANT to do. So this last Sat. we had nothing to do and finally took the chance to take advantage of the GREAT OUTDOORS at MT. BALDY. It was a beautiful day (despite the fires and smoke you could see in the Valley) but the mountains were wonderful. Ella had a blast at the FISH FARM. Ned did some PROSPECTING (no luck). And I had a wonderful view laying on a rock with Asher and looking up above at the sun coming through the trees (See first picture above). We also thought it was very funny when Ella suddenly said look at the GIANT MARSHMALLOW (pointing to the rock Ned is standing on above). We have no idea where she got that from and thought that was very silly, but she was serious, at least she didn't try to bite it. We were going to take the SKI LIFT to the peak of the mountain, but I didn't have the guts to take it with two WILD kids! So we just visited the top on foot.

It's Fall Ya'll...

Happy Belated Halloween...Ella loved carving pumpkins, in fact she decided she loves to EAT pumpkins...yes you heard me right, after Ned carved out the eyes and nose we see Ella chomping on the inside of the pumpkin. Then an hour later, she had picked up the top of the pumpkin and was eating that. I didn't stop her, I just laughed, its probably healthy, right?! Check out the pictures...
Here's our baby giraffe

Our Monkey (literally speaking) and her Jedi CousinThe cousin crew (yes they ALL trick or treated together)...

Eating her pumpkin (and notice the lone child in the background)
SO I LOVE FALL...I haven't posted in so long and thought I needed to catch up, so forgive the million's of pictures, but I love fall and thought a few were either cute or funny!

YES ON PROP 8!!

Hey all...I typically am not a political person (even though I was a “Girls Stater” in High School), but this year in this election I feel particularly strong about one issue or proposition in particular, and that is Proposition 8 in California. Even if you aren’t from California, please educate yourself on this issue and help spread the word and put up posts on this issue so others (living in Cali) are informed. I actually have a number of gay friends and co-workers and in no way feel this is discriminating against them, a lot of people just aren’t informed about this proposition and once they become informed actually understand what this is really about, and that is why I am posting about it, and hopefully I can help spread the word about Prop 8.

So below are a few things I’d like to share about Prop 8…if you’d like more info. Please feel free to click the links on the sidebar to learn more.

Having tolerance without condoning. We can love someone while still maintaining and advocating our standards and beliefs.

Unless Proposition 8 passes, California society will soon undergo a profound change in its basic understanding of marriage and family life. That will affect everyone in numerous ways. Over time, greater acceptance of nontraditional marriage will be demanded of all people. This could impact the ability of any religion to teach and practice its beliefs.

Proposition 8 will not hurt gays. In California, the law provides for marriage-related benefits to be given to civil unions and domestic partnerships. Proposition 8 does not diminish these benefits.

Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt children. If gay marriage remains legal, public schools will put it on equal footing with traditional marriage. Children will likely receive “age appropriate” information about sexual relations within heterosexual and homosexual marriages.

Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt churches. The court’s decision will inevitably lead to conflicts with religious liberty and free speech rights. Society will become more and more hostile to traditional beliefs about marriage and family.

Doting Parents

Ok I know blogs often times turn into parents doting upon their lovely children, so I apologize in advance that I haven’t blogged anything noteworthy as of late, but being a new mother kind of burns brain cells on top of exhausting you, so I haven’t wanted to take the time to actually think and apply myself anyway.

So we went to get Ella & Asher’s portraits taken last week, so Asher is just 2 weeks old in these photos and Ella is 28 months. But I do have to be an annoying doting mother, because I do think my kiddies are pretty cute, so I thought I’d share….
