Homeowners, please empathize

Homeowners, please empathize...

Ok, this is obviously our first home purchase. We have been so excited over the last (almost) 5 years of marriage to own our very own home. I literally have dreamt about it a number of times. The time finally arrived. We found a beautiful home, for (what we think, at least) is a great deal...so the countdown began.

We went through all the officialCheck Spelling things, paperwork, notary, wiring money...etc. etc. But who knew this would be SO STRESSFUL! We both (together) have never felt so stressed in our lives. Especially Ned, he is not a stressor (I do enough for the both of us) but even in this situation we both have been exhausted with this drawn out process, the red tape, the ever waiting on someone or something else, the excuses, the mistakes, the "one more thing"...

So for all those who are homeowners you probably know exactly what I am talking about, why didn't you warn us!!!!!!!!!!!!...ha ha ha...

But it seems official now, we are recording with the county tomorrow and will be NEW HOMEOWNERS. So now that we have lost some of the luster we had before the process, I think I am gonna make Ned carry me through the front door (WITH both the kids in my arms) to bring some of the new home luster back...

  1. When everything was said and done, the woman we worked with at the escrow office cheerfully handed us the keys to our new home. I should have been happy. I should have been pleased, but I was so miffed at FIELDSTONE, our builder, for what they had put us through. I took the keys and said,"Thanks to FIELDSTONE for taking the joy right out of my home purchase." She was surprised at my reaction and countered, "Oh, it wasn't that bad." I said, "Yes, it was!" I don't like to repeat my purchase horror story because I sure hope no one else is going through it. Congratulations! I'm glad you made it.

  5. yeah!!!!!!!!! so fun but yep stressful! You feel like your signing your life away. You have to trust the person who is making you sign them. I hated that feeling of huge pressure. But, so fun to have your own home!

  8. I know exactly what you mean, although I think the moving part is the most stressful. You think you are through the pain and then you have all this crap to go through. Still our new home is sweet especially after we finish the backyard. Post pictures after the dust settles.
